Which D&D Character am I?

Posted on 09:12 by Unknown
According to this test,

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Druid (6th Level)
From my visit to Stonehenge, 1997

Ability Scores:
Strength-12
Dexterity-13
Constitution-13
Intelligence-17
Wisdom-14
Charisma-13

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Guacamole

Posted on 20:28 by Unknown

In my entire life I've never made guacamole. I always heard it was easy, but never actually took the time out to actually buy the avocados and smoosh (sp?) them up with Rotel, garlic and onion powders, with a little pepper.

Not only was it easy enough, but it was yummy too.

My Mind (Apparently)

Take it for what you will. I seriously doubt a 50 question questionnaire can accurately deduce personality disorders. Take the test, yourself, see how messed up the internet thinks you are. ;)

Tools of the 'Tube

Posted on 14:03 by Unknown
If you consider YouTube as a social network, it's the most popular social network on the planet. With billions of minutes uploaded all the time and billions more being watched on a daily basis (note: I'm guessing here, I looked at absolutely no statistics for my opinion) YouTube is a force du jour  for anyone needing to get their content in front of people.

Compiled by +Denis Labelle, here is a list of YouTube tools (did you know YT had tools?) for those of us not burdened with enough extra cash to hire a professional multimedia consultant and studio:
Playbook => youtube.com/yt/playbook/index.html.
Getting started => youtube.com/yt/playbook/getting-started.html.

2. Video Privacy Settings - YouTube Tips & Tricks (Episode 2)
3. Adding Channel Art - YouTube Tips & Tricks (Episode 3)
4. Playlist Basics - YouTube Tips & Tricks (Episode 4)
And for those of you with a penchant for the cutting edge, here's where YouTube hides their special labs (as in GMail labs) called testtubes. Get it? Test tubes... YouTube. Tube?  Ah well, if you don't get it, then ask a friend. In the mean time:

TestTube: Ideas Incubator"This is where YouTube engineers and developers test out recipes and concoctions that aren't quite fully baked and invite you to tell us how they're coming along. Your comments will help us improve and perfect the mixtures we're working on. So jump in, play around, and send your feedback directly to the brains behind the scenes."

Google Voicemail and Your Android

Posted on 14:29 by Unknown

I have been an Android user since the first Android, +T-Mobile's G1. I've also been a Google Voice user since that service was announced and those of us not special could grab out GV numbers. As soon as the GV app for Android became available I downloaded it to my G1 and used it for making and receiving calls.

When I upgraded to the G2 a couple of years later, I downloaded the GV app again. Easy, peasy, one, two, threesy.

At no time was there an issue with setting up GV voicemail to circumvent the carrier's standard voice mail system.

I am a fan of using Google's voice for my voicemail needs for a number of reasons: email notification and (let's say) attempt to transcribe the message; an mp3 file of the message for future record; and more control.

I like control.

When I purchased the Note II from +T-Mobile I quickly downloaded the app and set up the device to use Google's Voice for voicemail. Unfortunately, it never took. Although the settings were all properly set, the default carrier VM always picked up.

For months I thought it was a conflict between +T-Mobile's desire for users to use their visual voicemail app and Google Voice and let it fall to the wayside. I don't get many voicemails and I use my GV number for almost everything but close friends and family, and I still had access via the browser interface at voice.google.com.

But, I was annoyed. I don't like being annoyed. And one cool April morning I searched the internet for an answer to my dilemma.

Thank Google, I found it! And now I'm sharing it with you. Be warned, your mileage may vary depending on your carrier and your plan (apparently this won't work with +T-Mobile's monthly contract plans) and other considerations I'm not imaginative enough to think of for you.

However, if you still want to set up GV as your default voicemail, this is how:

Step 1 -- Go to voice.google.com while logged into your Google account

Step 2 -- Under the Phones option, Scroll down to Forwarding Options

Step 3 -- Choose the option to Go straight to voicemail and then click Activate above it.

A pop-up screen will, um, pop-up with a code to enter into your Android's dialer. Since I'm with +T-Mobile mine starts with **400* then my GVoice number, then #. In all, it looks like this:

Hit Send. (Yes, it's that easy)

After you hit "Send" on your Android everything should work out okay. If it doesn't, make sure you are on your cellular network. I tried this using +T-Mobile's Wifi Calling at first and it didn't work, but once I turned that off and reverted back to their cellular network, it worked just fine.

My friend just went through this set-up herself, and her being on +Sprint, she had a different code to type in on Step 3.

She also had to change the Forwarding Options from "ring other phones" to Send to Voicemail, but then it worked just fine for her, too.
